During the development of Bob Came in Pieces I made some small concepts on how we wanted the game to look like. The concepts are over one year old and the main idea was to have a stylish and cheap way of doing art, since I was the only artist at that time and I was also in charge of the biz-side of Ludosity. Also having a somewhat abstract theme would give us more freedom on how to place out different objects in the world without making it look all too crazy.

I was hugely inspired by my friend Emil Berner who at that time was working on Fret Nice. The images are also using our old and ugly logo.

We’re wrapping on the next free DLC now, and everything is moving along quite nicely. With four brand new VR Missions and a new, fun Sandbox level, Bob Came In Pieces has now a total of 25 levels, easily clocking in well over 5 hours even for the experienced player, and more likely 10 hours to play the game from beginning to end.

Also new is the long awaited Gamepad support! We now have official support for Xbox 360 Controller, and any old gamepad should work really.

Stay tuned for more info!

We are looking to sort the stuff out with the creators of the page, so until we know more please don’t use this service. We at Ludosity thought that if we could help charity in any way just like the Humble Indie Bundle did, we would happily support it but we did not have any intentions of making people angry or in any way disappointed. So please, dont use this service until it is working again.

If you want to buy Bob for a small amount, check this out: http://www.givewhateveryouwant.com/

This is a experiment like Humble Indie Bundle but they will also have deals with other stuff, such as music. Anyhow, this is a test from our side and if you find the deal interesting, give it a shot

Hello gamers!

I am one of the game designers behind Bob and I want to talk to you about the future. So gather around, turn on some mood music and open a cold drink…

First some history: Bob 1.3 was all about bug fixes. The idea was to fix all the bugs reported to us so that everyone finally can enjoy the whole game without getting stuck somewhere.

With the bugs fixed the time has finally come to add new content to the game. One of the most frequent requests have been for more levels so this is what we primarily want to address in Bob 1.4.

The plan is to add something called “VR-levels”. These are basically custom levels separate from the main adventure in a brand new art style. Some of them will allow you to use the parts you’ve collected in the main adventure while others will give you a predefined set of parts. The predefined feature allows us to create more interesting puzzles as we don’t have to worry about what parts the player may have collected through the adventure. In short, this means more levels with more interesting puzzles for you! (You may want to take a celebratory sip from you drink here.)

Players have primarily been requesting more advanced puzzles and race levels but we also want to provide you with crazy levels that push the game-mechanics to the limit. There will for instance be a level where you don’t have any rockets, forcing you to rethink tractor-beams and one where Bob goes snowboarding…

Some screen shots of the levels we are currently working on:
